Last Friday, the 47-year-old Colombian singer finally released her highly anticipated 12th album titled “Las mujeres Ya No Lloran,” which translates to “Women Are Not Crying Anymore.”
Known as her ‘revenge album’, fans were excited when she subtly called out her ex Gerard Pique and his girlfriend Clara Chia Marti in the lyrics of her latest song. Shakira and Gerard, 37, ended their 11-year relationship in June 2022, following rumors of infidelity on his part. They have two sons, Milan, 11, and Sasha, nine, together. In her collaboration track with Argentine DJ Bizarrop titled Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53, she croons the lines, ‘I’m too big for you’, which seems to reference Gerard and Clara’s relationship. There were reports last August that Clara had moved into the same Barcelona home Shakira once shared with Gerard. The media even detailed Shakira’s memories of the house, such as arriving pregnant and leaving the hospital. Shakira learned about Gerard’s affair when she found a jar of strawberry jam empty upon her return. In one of her songs, she sings, ‘This is my way to hurt you, digest it so it doesn’t hurt, I won’t come back even if you cry and beg me. I realized it’s not my fault if they criticize you, I make music for myself, sorry if it hits you.’
Shakira and Gerard recently went their separate ways in June 2022 after being a couple for 11 years. The split was reportedly due to Gerard’s infidelity. The two have two sons, Milan who is 11 and Sasha who is nine, and were pictured together in 2014.
In the latest collaboration between Shakira and DJ Bizarre titled “Shakira: Bzp Music Sessions, Vol. 53”, the song includes a line where she confidently asserts, “I’m too much for you.” This lyric appears to suggest personal emotions towards her former partner and his current relationships.
The singer stood out in a chic black mini dress adorned with a shimmering silver star and swirl design, accentuating her stunning silhouette in the short ensemble.
The famous star highlighted her timeless beauty by opting for a natural look with minimal makeup, letting her luscious hair cascade in golden waves down her shoulders.
Shakira had the crowd in awe as she took the stage to celebrate the incredible achievement of her latest record reaching 7x platinum in just one day.
The famous person was thrilled to finally release the album after overcoming several challenging years.
Shakira welcomed her fans with a smile and posed for photos while enjoying the evening.
Shakira was in the spotlight with numerous interviews during the launch party for her latest album. The album kicks off with an energetic pop collaboration with Cardi B in a song titled “Puntería.” The music video for this track, featuring Lucien Laviscourt, was released alongside the album. Throughout the album, Shakira seems to allude to her past relationship with Gerard, referring to a necessary split in the song “Monotonía.” The song, which translates to “monotony,” addresses the end of a relationship due to routine and lack of emotion. Shakira sings about feeling hurt and realizing the relationship was over before it officially ended. The music video shows her walking sadly through a supermarket before being dramatically shot in the chest by a mysterious man.
The singer confidently sings, “I’m too much for you, that’s why you’re with someone who matches your energy,” suggesting a connection to Gerard’s love life.
